МКММ – это конкурс, в котором принимала участие дизайнер STRAIGHT CUT Ольга Тимохина.
Я же хочу поделиться своими впечатлениями о конкурсе в надежде на обмен мнениями с посетителями сайта. А «не моё» и чаемое мнение важно по многим причинам. О них в форме рассказа ниже.
Московский Конкурс Молодых Модельеров http://www.mkmm.info/index.html проходил во второй раз. В ноябре 2011 года состоялся полуфинал. Для финалистов в мае 2012 года организаторы к основной номинации добавили творческое задание – «Сценический образ».
Новая тема для будущей коллекции – «Свет и Тьма» – такая буквальная и неоднозначная, такая понятная на первый взгляд и довольно противоречивая, тема, в которой весь талант модельера может быть выявлен. Ведь это работа с ОБРАЗОМ!.. С образом посредством ДИЗАЙНА. Причёска и макияж, пластика движений, сценарий показа – только дополнение к одежде…А какой вообще может быть одежда, которая «Свет», какой – которая «Тьма»?? Отыскивая ответы на вопросы, отправимся ли мы путешествовать в прошлое или будем изобретать Своё НОВОЕ настоящее?
И с чего стоит начинать проектирование такой коллекции? С поиска Учения, отвечающего вполне личным представлениям о происхождении и характере этических понятий «Добро» и «Зло», «Свет» и «Тьма»?.. С выбора графических средств? С выбора материала?
Откуда вообще взялась эта резкая граница, эта «непримиримость»? С какой целью в мире добро всегда противопоставляется злу, и почему даже не возникло во мне сомнение в синонимичности «Тьмы» и «Зла», «Света» и «Добра»?
Это извечные вопросы этики. Хотя в Индии уже бы давно посвятили меня, невежественного западного человека, в эту тайну тайн.
Возвращаясь к заданию финалистов МКММ, примем a priori, что существует два противоположных персонажа, которых надо воплотить в костюме. Фактура, цвет, состав материала, конструкция изделия – это те инструменты, что призваны раскрыть в будущей одежде всю полноту образа, все ему присущие качества. Отсюда резкие, колючие, шершавые линии и пятна в одежде для «тёмного» персонажа и мягкие, нежные, струящиеся, воздушные – для «светлого».
Я предполагала, что коллекции пострадают от буквального понимания Света как Белого и Тьмы как Чёрного. У модельеров были такие котрастно-ограниченные коллекции…
И всё-таки некоторые образы поразили глубиной и ясностью воплощения: большое засохшее дерево – его везёт на телеге косматый мужчина с разлетающимися бровями; взгляд его цепкий, недоброжелательный. И маленький горшочек с зелёным ростком, который, прижимая к сердцу, несёт в руках девушка. Ни следа чувственного не лежит на её чудном лице – оно бесстрастно. Они проходят друг за другом. Не берусь писать в этом посте свои мысли об Олином показе – лучше автора никто этого не сделает. Отмечу лишь только, что это был ИСКЛЮЧИТЕЛЬНЫЙ ТЕАТР МОДЫ. Как зритель, очень благодарна ей за Чудо Живого Искусства!
MKMM is a competition which was attended by our STRAIGHT CUT designer Olga Timokhina.
I want to share my impressions of the competition in the hope of sharing ideas with our visitors. A "not mine" and desired opinion is important for many reasons. About them – in the form of a story below.
The Moscow Competition Of Young Fashion Designers (http://www.mkmm.info/index.html) was held for the second time. The semi-finals took place in November 2011. In May 2012, the organizers added a creative task to the main nomination for the finalists – "A Stage Image".
The new topic for the future collections was "Light and Darkness" – so literal and ambiguous, so clear at first glance and rather controversial, the topic, which can reveal all the talent of a designer – because this is the work with an image!.. With an image through design. Hair and make-up, the plasticity of movements, the script of the show are only additions to the clothes... And what at all could be the clothing which is "Light", what – which is "Darkness"? In search of the answers to the questions, will we travel to the past or will we invent our own NEW present?
And what should we begin with, designing such a collection? With the search of a Teaching which meets quite a personal view of the origin and nature of the ethical concepts of "Good" and "Evil", "Light" and "Darkness"?.. With the choice of graphical tools? With the choice of fabric?
Where did this sharp boundary, this "intransigence" come from? Why is good always opposed to evil in our world, and why did not even occur in me any doubt in the synonymy of "Darkness" and "Evil", "Light" and "Good"?
These are the age-old questions of ethics. Although in India I, an ignorant westerner, would have long been dedicated into this mystery of mysteries.
Returning to the task for the finalists of MKMM, let us assume a priori that there are two opposing characters, which should be personified in clothes. The texture, the colour, the materials, the design of the product – these are the tools that are supposed to open up the image to the full in the future clothes, all its inherent qualities. Hence are the sharp, prickly, rough lines and spots in the clothing for the "dark" character and soft, gentle, flowing, airy – for the "light".
I assumed that the collections would suffer from the literal understanding of Light as White and Darkness as Black. The designers had such colour-limited collections...
Still, some of the images struck with the depth and clarity of implementation: a large dead tree carried in a cart by a hairy man with shaggy eyebrows, his gaze grasping, unfriendly. And a little pot with a green shoot, which is carried by a young girl, who is clutching it to her heart. No trace of sensuality marks her wonderful face – it is absolutely composed. They pass one after the other. They are silent and speaking... (The magic of the creative alliance of Margo Morozova and Alyona Bezrukikh).
I do not dare to write here my thoughts on Olya’s show – no one can do it better that the author. I would like only to note that it was AN EXCEPTIONAL FASHION THEATRE. As a viewer, I am very grateful to her for The Miracle Of Living Art!
