La nascita della dea.

La nascita della dea.

...She may go, rose-wreathed,

Twirling a lily-stem,

Tripping through flowery valleys,

Sending the moths on her errands...”

“My Goddess”, J. W. Goethe, 1770

August in Moscow! Leaves, suffering from heat and urban dust, had began to turn yellow. One leaf tore off from its branch, soared high, circled in an intricate dance and fell on the hot asphalt…

In one hand I was holding the yellow leaf, in the other – a dress from my latest collection, when we rang the photographer’s doorbell – having already met with Zhenya (a model for the survey) and Olga Timokhina.

A few hours before that I was painting with gold paint, drying the future accessories on the balcony, making a wreath from laurel branches – we needed it to add some Greek hint to the image.

<...> The preparation took about an hour and a half. The time came for our “conversation” - the dialogue between a designer, a photographer and a model is always special, watchful for sensations, mood. I was wondering whether my notions and expectations would coincide with the point of view of the photographer - today it is Julia Gubankova (http://gubankova.com/GLAVNAY). Would this image be attractive, provocative, seductive or, on the contrary, would it be an exciting image of spiritual height?!

A birth is always a Great Mystery. The Time somehow defines these transitions from one state to another; a tiny moment, less in my opinion, than a millisecond. Thought and matter are constantly and inseparably linked. In fact, any material object is the result of a thought - the image and likeness? And then - thrusting into the thicket of the reasoning - an "ideal" (does it exist?) thought would be the reason for the ideal objective form. This leads me to the conclusion that the "ideal" material world - is the natural world. Uncreated by human hands.

Hence are all human attempts through artistic culture (in particular, through design) to approach the creation of the material world, which could represent in full or at least get a little closer in this imitation to the Nature - the world of genuine Harmony.

The photographer is at work, she seems to be in another dimension! I'm thinking, dreaming, I do not interfere...

Shadows have already crept off the ground onto city buildings, stretched, started shaking. Leaves, being carried by a dry breeze, lure my imagination with the rustle of their playful dresses. They weave with their dark green curves into the contours of the model's face, twitch, gently swaying, lay on hands, shoulders, get lost in the snow-white folds of the dress.

Brick walls come to life: sizzling, spluttering air has heated them, they are weary, hot under the midday sun.

Is this not the theatre, played out by the fantasy of Summer Day and Sorceress Nature? In which, from the thin, lightest shade of aether and greenish-patterned shadow, is born the Miracle - Diva...

Maybe a goddess, maybe a mortal woman of incomparable beauty. Her whole image is free, exalted!

The space around is full of light and poetry! She is the dawn, she is an inspiration for artists.

She makes you want to be next to her, hidden, to fill yourself with this luminous harmony, to absorb all the intangible rhythms and sounds that are born with her ...

The word diva is present in many language cultures, and means "divine" or "goddess", and in the figurative meaning – "beloved". The Beloved of the Light, of God's world:

"...Ever-changeable,

Ever-youthful..."
